Map of Scotland, divided in South and North Scotland by Nicolaas Visscher, published by P. Schenk, ca. 1700. A lovely cartouche at the top left with many figures, a crowned coat of arms with those of the many regions, gold embossed, with in it a title and impressum. At the top right a depiction of putti with the crowned coat of arms of Scotland on a cloud and with scale rulers. From: 'Atlas Contractus sive Mapparum Geographicarum Sansoniarum auctarum et correctarum Nova Congeries'. Amsterdam, P. Schenk, ca. 1700. (Koeman, Sche 1) . In outstanding condition. The full sheet is 62 x 52 cm. With wide margins, on sturdy handmade paper, centre fold as published, old time colouration of territories and borders, gold embossed in the cartouche, blank verso.
