UMAYYAD COPPER IBEX
Ca. 700-800 AD. A copper figure of an ibex standing proudly on four legs. The body is well rendered, tapering to a long upright neck. The head with prominent antlers, and finely delineated features, flanked by downcast ears. On the neck of the animal, is a triple-banded collar with a frontal bell. Size: L:80mm / W:75mm ; 120g Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1980s.
