UNCLE SAM DOORSTOP
144. UNCLE SAM DOORSTOP
Brand new to the market and now the best one known, this doorstop was filmed with Michael Bertoia on the PBS Antiques Roadshow in Booth Bay Maine, it was presented by a family member who never realized what she had in her house throughout her life. Cast iron Uncle Sam doorstop was produced with the words "FOR THE OPEN DOOR" stenciled on the base, that probably referred to both the use of a doorstop, and a political controversy of the 1920's about the "Open Door Policy" regarding China and commerce with other countries. Wonderful piece of Americana! | 12" h. | (Pristine to Near Mint Condition) | $8,000 - $14,000
