UNIC - c.1935

UNIC - c.1935

Large, original, double-sided lithographed advertising sheet metal. 90 x 90 cm.

Shows signs of use -
Retains its beautiful original luster and good color. Front side (more attractive): subtle scratches and localized touch-ups along the edges.
Back side (more worn): numerous repaints along the edges and within the design, paint deterioration on the letters U and N, traces of oxidation, and a trimmed corner.

Founded in Puteaux in March 1905 by Georges Richard and Baron Henri de Rothschild, the Unic brand owes its name to its founding concept: a unique, robust chassis with interchangeable parts.
This reliability immediately made it the leader among Parisian taxis and a benchmark in the passenger car industry.
In July 1938, Unic abandoned passenger cars to focus
exclusively on heavy-duty trucks. It was absorbed by Simca in 1952.
Integrated into Fiat in 1966, then a founding member of Iveco in 1975, the French emblem disappeared permanently from vehicle grilles in 1984.
