UNUSUAL COLT AR-15 LIGHT MACHINE GUN FROM JOHN
KEOSAYIAN COLLECTION.Cal. 223. S# 205872. Bbl. 20". M16A2 style sights. Unusual Colt AR15/M16 LMG formerly owned by Colt Executive John Keosayian. This LMG takes STANAG mags & was intended as a squad automatic weapon. This closed bolt example is stamped "COLT GUN ROOM" on right side of mag well. It is worth noting a Colt M16 belt fed prototype designated "M2" has the same Colt Gun Room marking on right side of mag well. Left side has Rampant Colt logo with "AR-15" & "LMG". Selector has three positions SAFE", "SEMI" & "AUTO". It differs from production examples with the semi selector, closed bolt operation & "AR-15" markings. It is possible this example is an early prototype due to the Colt Gun Room marking, or perhaps a Keosayian assembled piece. Upper correctly has brass deflector & lacks a forward assist. Gray phosphate finish. Oversized handguard with carry handle & vertical foregrip. A1 pistol grip & A2 style buttstock. Correct folding bipod present. MAGS: 1-30 rd. Colt made. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Apache hardcase. CONDITION: furniture shows scattered handling wear. Metal retains 97-98% original gray phosphate with light handling marks & brass deflector wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Near excellent bore with strong rifling. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. (03-2331/MJC). MODERN, CLASS III. $50,000-70,000.
