UNUSUAL PIERROT CAST IRON SPINNER TARGET IN OLD PAINT
The early 20th century iron figure in red, white and blue conical hat and billowy costume with collarette as seen on Pierrot (the character sometimes seen with a harlequin), the standing target originally had a mechanism that spun the figure when a bullseye was struck. Both H.C. Evans and Emil Hoffmann of Chicago picture similar targets in their catalogs, Evans on page 79, part number 143 as one of the 'Turnover Targets'; and in a Hoffmann catalog as 'Revolving Clown' part number 48. This is the only known example of this target to date.
Pictured on page 77 of Sellers' book (Figure 5.32).
Displayed on custom iron stand. This is the only example the Tuckers have seen or heard of in their 30 years of collecting.
Measures 21 x 9.75 inches, excluding stand.
We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
Condition Report: Very good original shooting gallery target condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, moderate wear to the old park paint.
