Includes examples representing every successful presidential candidate and many of the "hopefuls" for each of the 1948, 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, and 2000 election years. Features administration items such as President and secretarial signed photographs, Christmas cards, Inauguration invitations and tickets, along with many others. Campaign materials comprise brochures, bumper stickers, handbills, pendants, and a smattering of various 1950s and 1960s "hopefuls" pinback buttons. Other ephemera includes newspapers, satirical bank notes, and a 1968 Dow Jones teletype reporting on the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy and more. In addition to the successful candidates, "hopefuls" comprise: H. Humphrey, A.W. Barkley, N. Rockefeller, R. Nixon ('60), C. DeBerry, R.F. Kennedy, Geo. Wallace, E. Muskie, Geo. Romney, E. McCarthy, S. Symington, F. Halstead, E. Kefauver, R. Taft, A. Stevenson, H. Stassen, R. Kerr, L. Rockwell, W. E. Stone, E. India, S. Chisholm, Geo. McGovern, B. Goldwater, and A. Gore.
