US M1905 Bayonet with M3 Scabbard Dated 1942

A United States military M1905 bayonet manufactured in 1942. The bayonet features a steel blade with a deep longitudinal fuller. The obverse ricasso is stamped with the characters U.C. positioned above a small ordnance flaming bomb insignia, which is followed by the characters U.O.S. and the date 1942. The reverse ricasso bears an impressed mark consisting of a stylized bird or eagle head cartouche. The hilt is constructed with a steel crossguard and pommel, fitted with two-piece black molded plastic grips featuring a ribbed texture. A yellow painted Arabic numeral 482 is present on the right-side grip. The bayonet is accompanied by an M3 scabbard composed of an olive drab green body with a steel throat. The throat is stamped with a large ordnance flaming bomb insignia containing the characters U.S. in the center. The overall length of the bayonet is approximately 20.5 inches as measured by the provided scale. The blade length is approximately 16 inches as measured by the provided scale. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
