US MODEL 1860 STYLE PRESESENTASION SWORD W/ PHOTO FROM A MEMBER OF THE 7TH REGIMENT NEW YORK CAVALRY. This sword has a 3 branch brass guard w/ a dark leather grip w/ wire wrap (honest wear), the ricasso is unmarked & the blade which was double engraved has had 90% of its engraving expertly removed for some reason, the iron scabbard has a fair amount of rust has brass mounts (lower one dented) w/ the top one being finely engraved ?Presented to: Lieut. D. Beebe From West Troy friends Nov. 7th 1861?, this comes w/ a partial leather knot. The albumin photo is 7 ?? x 6? and is oval as is the frame 10 ?? x 8 ??, hand signed by him ?Most Respectly yours Dillard Beebe?, shows him in full uniform (frock coat coat, hardee hat by his side, & holding a cavalry sword but not this one), this is in a period frame.
