US MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD KRAG CARBINE RIFLE

SN 272191, made in 1900. 22" barrel bolt action .30-40 Krag rifle. US Springfield Model of 1898, Krag. Appears to have been converted to carbine configuration; lacks saddle right and has had wood repaired and front end of stock cut away. Rear sight was replaced with a Marbles sporting sight, blade front sight, and metal butt plate. Finish approximately 85% with considerable age wear throughout, along with service and age wear to the stock. Action flawless, bore very good with rifling. Good - Very Good*
