9 x 9 inches. An American salt-glazed stoneware crock featuring a cylindrical form with a slightly flared rim and two integrated lug handles. The exterior displays a characteristic salt-glaze orange peel texture. The front is decorated with a freehand cobalt blue slip floral motif. Positioned above this decoration is a large freehand cobalt blue numeral 2, indicating the capacity, flanked by horizontal flourishes. The interior is finished with a dark brown Albany-type slip glaze. The base is unglazed and shows a slightly recessed center. A piece of white string is taped to the interior rim with a small piece of clear adhesive tape.
