MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 274663. Bbl. 26" marked behind front sight "W", flaming bomb, "5-18". Ladder aperture rear sight. Sight slide and ladder marked "W". Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Receiver is marked on top of left rail w/ partial eagle acceptance mark. Marked on left side w/ partial faint flaming bomb. Bolt handle is marked on top w/ crisp flaming bomb and marked underneath w/ "W", "NS". Cocking piece marked "EN". Safety marked on inside w/ "R". Upper band marked "W" on the bayonet lug. Stacking swivel is replacement. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked only w/ "W" "143" at forend tip. Smooth trap buttplate. CONDITION: stock has arsenal rework type finish w/ moderate wear and handling marks throughout. Metal retains 75% arsenal rework, parkerized finish. Front swing swivel is notably distorted. Bore has a degree of shine w/ strong lands but has appearance of frosting in grooves. (24-1243/RW). CURIO. $500-800.
