Starr Army revolver, SA Model 44-calibre, 1865: Length: 32 cm Barrel: 20 cm Large percussion revolver, . 44 calibre, single action, 6 shots, patented by Ebenezer Starr in 1857. From the time of the American civil war, the single action ‘Army’ model was made from 1863 to 1865. Altogether, approximately 54,000 Starr revolvers were manufactured: - 1858 model, Double Action . 36 Caliber Percussion Navy Revolver (1 to 3000) - 1858 model, Double Action . 44 Caliber Percussion Army Revolver (3000 to 23,000) - 1863 model, Double Action . 44 Caliber Percussion Army Revolver (23,000 to 54,000) The serial number is 51087 and is marked on the frame (under the barrel and hammer) , under the butt plate and on the cylinder (hardly visible) . Marking on the frame: "STARR. ARMS. Co. NEW YORK” and “STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15. 1856. " No traces of oxidation, slight orange peel. The barrel interior is decent, the grooves are clearly visible and well-marked. Cylinder chambers are in good condition. Original plates in good condition. Good working condition, no play.
