Rare SPENCER model 1865 percussion saddle rifle from the Burnside Rifle Co: Caliber: . 56-50 Serial number: 33354 Total length: 94 cm, barrel: 50 cm Capacity: 7 hit It is a copy of an American cavalry rifle that was widely used in the post-Civil War (Indian Wars) era. On June 27, 1864, the Burnside Rifle Co. entered into a contract with the state to manufacture approximately 30,500 Spencer Model rifles, whose deliveries ended on August 31, 1865. With modifications to be made to the rifles, deliveries only began on April 15, 1865 and continued until the end of October, with 30,496 deliveries. In total, the Burnside Company produced just over 34,000 of this rifle. All gray metallic parts stained with traces of oxidation. Marking on the carcass «Mod 1865 SPENCER REPETING RIFLE PAT March Manued by BURNSIDE RIFLE. Co ". Inspector's mark "J. L. C. Is engraved on the left barrel with thunder. Diaper plate marked with "U S". Wooden stock on the model, marked "T 261", in fairly good condition. Functional two-notch mechanism. barrel with good stripes. Perfect mechanical operation, no play.
