First & only edition (printed with wide margins) of an 18th-cent. topographical description of the province of Utrecht illustrated with engravings by the Dutch print-makers Jan Caspar Philips (1690-1775) & Hendrik Spilman (1721-1784) after drawings by the Dutch artists Jan de Beijer (1703-1780) & Cornelis Pronk (1691-1759). A supplementary volume was published in 1772. – A few defects (spine-ends dam./ chipped, binding partly rubbed/ worn along extremities, chintz over covers renewed in the 19th century, 1 fold. map with tear in outer part (strengthened with paper on verso), a few scattered annotations in black ink (incl. owner’s entry on title), occ. sl. foxed/ browned), but nevertheless in a good interior condition.
