Very beautiful art deco sculpture of an athletic man on raft. Bronze patinated in subtle green original patina. Clearly signed U. Cipriani. Circa 1930. The composition provides movement and good muscle expression of the naked man on the raft. Well-known artist.

Lived from 1884 to 1960. Son of the sculptor Adolfo Cipriani. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Ugo Cipriani worked on marble, clay, bronze, alabaster.
One of his best-known works, a bronze monument (1919) by the Italian nationalist and irredentist Guglielmo Oberdan, stands in the square of the same name, in Florence.

Sculpture is in very good condition, black marble plateau in very good condition (hardly any damage on the corners) , no scratches or patina damage.
