An Ottoman tinned-copper candlestick, a Qajar tinned-copper ewer and two Qajar gold-damascened steel ghalian cups, Turkey and Persia, 19th Century
the candlestick on a circular base with scalloped edges, the waisted shaft enclosed by a central ring of leaves, surmounted by a cup-shaped bowl with everted rim, engraved and decorated with foliate motifs; the ewer of flattened globular form on a short foot with long curving spout and handle and hinged lid surmounted by a conical finial, profusely engraved and decorated, the faceted neck with geometric motifs, the body with roundels containing quadrupeds on a ground of vegetal interlace and bands of geometric designs; the ghalian cups each of typical form with wooden handle, the first profusely carved with geometric and floral motifs to the handle, the flared cup engraved and decorated in gold inlay with oval cartouches containing floral sprays, the second with flared cup incised and decorated in gold inlay with bands of floral interlace
