Two-piece postwar veteran's shield badge attributed to Marion N. Davidson of Company K, 4th Wisconsin Cavalry. Davidson enlisted on 8/30/1864 and saw action around Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before mustering out on 6/20/1865. The regiment notably seized control of a train transporting it to Elmira, NY, after the railroad company refused a transfer.
