Unique Highly Folk Art Decorated Unknown Kentucky Flintlock Rifle

Unsigned 39" octagon 40 caliber rifled barrel with German silver front sight and rear notch hunting sight with pewter plug behind rear sight. Single bolt flintlock with double set trigger control. Brass hardware including a four piece acorn finial with floral and unique Eastern Woodland Indian silhouette. Full length curly maple stock is carved with floral motifs in front of lock, wrist and tailpipe. With unique raised flying turkey carving of unknown age behind the cheek piece. Decorated with silver thumbpiece inlay, engraved silver hearts and oval on cheek piece. Brass side plate is neatly engraved with acorn and oakleaf pattern. CALIBER: 40 Caliber. S/N: N/A. Condition Report: Overall in good condition with metal showing some pitting and turned to a brown patina. Wood shows evidence of repair near saddle plate area and in some areas carving has possibly been retraced. Dark bore with visible rifling and good mechanics.
