Chest pistol, 18th century With its magnificent noble wood case, carved by hand from a single piece of wood, completely waxed and restored! (rare) Beautifully decorated box. Flintlock system in good working order. (The flint still sparks.) Flash pan in good condition, no tarnishing. Round ‘chough’s beak’ butt. Round barrel with forced bullet. Unscrewable (not blocked) , smooth interior, not oxidized. Deep chamber that can contain quite a respectable load for the calibre. Calibre: 10 mm Beautiful greyish iron patina. Lovely butt in beautiful walnut wood, not weakened. Marked ‘SU’ on the butt. Produced by an English gunsmith craftsman around 1780-1800. Very nice flintlock chest pistol of a respectable size!
