British Schermuly Pistol Rocket Apparatus (SPRA) in very good & working condition. Total length: 57 cm Length barrel: 42 cm This 'gun' was also used during the First World War, when the idea came up to develop these types of objects to make communication in the front more secure by firing messages instead of messengers ("runners") and the construction of barbed wire fences. Developed by William Schermully at the end of World War I and officially purchased by the British Army from 1920. " Marked and complete with British decay stamps (crowned "V" & "GP") from that period. The ammunition is for decoration only and not for sale! ! Photos are part of the description.
