Reverse translation: (United States of America; 10 Dollars; In God We Trust) HISTORYUNITED STATES OF AMERICA(since 1776) George Washington (1732-1799) was elected the first president of the United States. He helped write the Constitution in 1787. Presidents John Adams (1797-1801) , Jefferson (1801-1809) , Madison (1809-1817) , and Monroe (1817-1825) allowed the first thirteen states to organize and bring new members into the Union: Vermont in 1791, Kentucky in 1792, Tennessee in 1796, Ohio in 1803, and last but not least, Louisiana, which Bonaparte sold for $15 million. The second war with England (1812-1814) led to the Treaty of Ghent (1814) . Florida joined the Union in 1819. The United States extended towards the South and would soon face the Mexicans. In 1836, Fort Alamo was destroyed by General Santa Anna.
