Complete central strike of vivid red circular grid cancel, with brilliant orange brown color and a crisp impression, Extremely Fine and attractive, ex-Arthur Weil and Hall, with 2000 P.F. (for red brown shade) & 2008 P.S.E. certificate, the latter Graded (XF 90, SMQ $1,250). Scott No. 1b; $675. A SUPERB SHEET-MARGIN EXAMPLE OF 1847 5¢ ISSUE IN THE SCARCE ORANGE BROWN SHADE. Several sheet margin singles can be found on the 1847 5¢ issue, but rarely is a used single found with a sheet margin of this size.
