Virtually perfect centering with large even margins, cancelled by gorgeous strike of red New York Foreign Mail (Weiss TR-W5), Extremely Fine and choice, ex-Kirke, with 1983, 2003 P.F. & 2008 P.S.E. certificates, last Graded (XF-Superb 95, SMQ $950). Scott No. 153; $240. AN OUTSTANDING GEM EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 24¢ UNGRILLED BANK NOTE WITH THIS HANDSOME NEW YORK FOREIGN MAIL CANCEL. Only two examples are graded higher, however it is doubtful that either have the wonderful eye appeal that this stamp possesses.
