The American eagle is very rapidly becoming a major investment "bullion" coin, known and recognised throughout the entire world. Also available in 1 ounce gold, 1/4 ounce and 1/10 ounce. OBVERSE: The obverse of the American Eagle is similar to that of the US gold $20 issued between 1907 and 1933, showcasing the "Liberty" of the famous American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. REVERSE: The reverse of the American Eagle coin was done by the engraver Miley Busiek. It shows a bald eagle coming back to the nest where one of its chicks is waiting. This scene can be seen as an allegory of the national unity of the country. Here and there on the nest you can read two inscriptions, the first is visible on the left "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the second, which appears on the right, is none other than the American motto "IN GOD WE TRUST". The writing on the upper edge of the coin is: "UNITED STATE OF AMERICA", whilst the lower part reads: "1/2OZ FINE GOLD - 25 DOLLARS". Under French law, proof of identity may be requested.
