A diver's extremely rare and very attractive vintage Geneva wrist chronograph with Reverse-Panda Dial Ref. 885104/02, Cal. UG 85/Valjoux 72, Case No. 2509594, Dimensions 40 mm, circa 1966, Origin Schweiz Case: Steel, screw back, bidirectional rotating bezel, screwed crown, original folded Universal Genève/Gay Frères steel bracelet, stamped 3/67, bracelet length 130 mm, total length 175 mm. Dial: Black, silvered subdials. Movm.: Manual. The Space-Compax was originally developed for both diving and motorsports. The watch’s typical feature is the asymmetric case with bulky black rubber pushers on the wider right side. The bidirectional black bezel has a 60-minute division. The black dial features silver subdials and an art deco-style marker at 12 o’clock. This Space-Compax model is in beautiful vintage condition. The beautiful steel bracelet by Universal Genève/Gay Frères dating from 1967 is particularly rare. It is very well preserved and completes this excellent offering. The clasp is stamped 3/67 (3rd quarter 1967) and signed with the UG logo on the outside. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.
