Technique: Copper engraving on Paper

Inscription: Inscribed below in the printing plate: "Eurydice Enigme". On the reverse is the imprint of a typographical text.

Date: 17th century

Description: Scenic representation of ancient Greek mythology. The singer Orpheus descended into the underworld to save his lover, the nymph Eurydice. However, against the condition of the god of the underworld, Hades, he turned to her on his way to the surface of the earth, whereupon she was dragged back again.

Condition: Very good condition. There is a faint vertical crease along the right third of the sheet. On the right is a minimal marginal tear, which was restored. There is another marginal tear at the upper left.
