Description: A small scene in the house of a Scottish nobleman is depicted in the style of a history painting. On the left, a young woman is sitting for a portrait of a young artist, who is leaning eagerly over his drawing and scrutinising the beauty. Looking over his shoulder are a tutor and the master of the house. Inscribed above: "Mme Elise Boulanger", signed in the stone below the depiction: "Français / Imp Berts[?]s".
