Unusual French Napoleon III Style Walnut Four Sided Free Standing Bookcase, late 19th c., the flat moulded hinged top opens to reveal hidden storage with supports over paneled fluted frieze, flanked by lozenge decoration, each corner with a fluted ring turned columnette, astragal vertical dividers, nine cubbies each side, projected stepped base on toupie feet, H.- 51 in., W.- 33 in., D.- 33 in.
Condition Report: Structurally sound. Overall minor losses, marks, abrasions, and imperfections to finish. Some warping and separation to top, as well as base moulding. The top tier is 10 1/4 inches tall; the middle tier is 11 1/2 inches tall; and the bottom tier is 14 inches tall; all are around 10 inches deep (center rows can be a little deeper). Useful and striking example in overall good condition.
