American, likely Midwestern, late 18th-early 19th century. An unusual work stand and writing desk in mahogany and pine and poplar secondary, having hinged top that folds backwards revealing a felt-covered writing surface with multiple compartments, including one with hinged lid, over two graduated dovetailed drawers with wood pulls, all rising on rope-twist legs ending in ball feet; ht. 28.75, wd. 17, dp. 15.25 in.
Condition Report: Age splits to veneer and some restoration to edges. One pull-out support on back is missing brass pull.
