Condition report:
Sugita no. 3 and no. 17 both from original drawings made Tempo 5, 9 Feb 1834 - Jan 1835, published posthumously by Sakai Kokodo in the Taisho period 1919 from an original Hiroshige.

Condition:
1. Sugita, Plum Blossoms in full bloom (figure on donkey on a road past blossom trees) - Paper stained and discoloured throughout. The occasional speck and dot of foxing. Colours faded. Ink in thin in areas. A few very light handling creases and a few very light scratches. Paper is lightly cockled. Not examined outside of frame. Please see additional images for details
2. Narita Highway - Rocky cliffs by the sea - Paper discoloured to a medium brown. Paper colour is irregular with lighter spots and streaks throughout. Some scattered very light foxing. A little light cockling of paper throughout. Blue colour is strong but the red colour appears faded. Not examined outside of frame.
3. Takaido road - Figures travelling in a U-shaped valley - Large spots of foxing throughout. Some light surface dirt, more concentrated in corners. Paper lightly cockled. Small 1cm tear to top of image. Red colour appears fade. Not examined outside of frame.
4. Mitsuke - Figures fishing from boats - Paper lightly discoloured. A few light spots of foxing to the sky. A couple of very light creases. A little surface dirt and smudges of ink. Some circular streaks in the ink in the water, probably from how the ink was applied. Not examined outside of frame
5. Mount Takatsu, Iwami - Paper lightly discoloured and lightly cockled Colours are faded. Surface dirt especially in corners. A few patches of light foxing . Not examined outside of frame
