An Egyptian anhydrite kohl vase, Middle Kingdom

L'utilisation de l'anhydrite bleutée n'est attestée que pour une période très courte, du début de la XIIe dynastie jusqu'à la fin de la deuxième période intermédiaire.
Cette pierre était réservée à la production de récipients particulièrement nobles.

Exclusively used for the production of high-quality containers, bluish anhydrite appears to have only been used over the period of the 12th Dynasty to the end of the Second Intermediate Period.
