VERY FINE AND RARE CARVED WOOD SCULPTURE OF A GENTLEMAN SEATED IN A GOTHIC ARMCHAIR, 1890
retains an early, probably original varnished surface, signed with carved initials BAREP and dated 1890 on the underside of the seat. Two chair legs with restoration.
Height 8 ¾ in. by Width 3 ½ in. by Depth 4 ¾ in.
Condition Report:
In fine condition with aged varnished surface with worn areas commensurate with handling. Two minuscule chips to seat crest proper left side. Signed with carved initials and dated "BAB/ EP 1894" on the underside of the seat. Two chair legs with restoration and an old break of proper left foot of figure.
