VICTORIAN GOLD PROPELLING PENCIL/PEN COMBINATION.
Mid - 19th century. Unmarked 14K yellow gold (tested with x-ray metal tester) combined sliding propelling pencil and pen, finely engraved with foliate scroll decoration, the screw off terminal revealing a lead reservoir and set with a mosaic of a bird. Nib missing, overall condition very good. Measures 4" closed.
Condition Report: Mechanisms work for both pen (missing nib) and pencil. The pencil mechanism sticks more than the pen. Bottom knob unscrews. Overall good condition.
