Vietnam era grouping of homefront "Remember The Pueblo" items including three bumper stickers and two buttons. One of the stickers is "Compliments of Dooley's Hardware" (Long Beach California) While the other was created by Reflective Advertising of St. Louis, Missouri. Both buttons are maker marked. The U.S. Navy converted the USS Pueblo to a spy ship in 1967 and gathered intelligence off the coast of North Korea until attacked and captured by the North Koreans on January 23, 1968. Supporters of the crew created a "Remember The Pueblo" committee in an attempt to keep the 83 captured soldiers in the public eye.The crewmen were finally released in December, 1968 after almost a year of harsh captivity which included beatings and other torture.
