C. 900-1100 AD. Viking age. An iron axe / war hammer head composed of a broad cutting blade and a flat hammerhead on the rear. The dual combination of cutting blade and crushing hammerhead could have allowed a warrior to use this fearsome weeapon in a variety of way, permitting tactical flexibility on the battlefield and utility as a tool during peacetime. Good condition; on a custom stand. Size: H:125mm/L:180mm/H:75mm (without stand); 690g.
