VIKING NAVAGATOR’S OENDANT, 10TH-11TH CENTURY AD

Circular, just under 5/8” diameter. Combining two favorite Viking themes. The perimeter represents the crescent moon with the tips joined as often portrayed. The medial cusp defines a heart pierced in the lower half. The heart stood for bravery and other attributes of the warrior and the moon, for the celestial formations which guided the navigator. The conbined symbols then, would represent a brave warrior navigator. Professionally refurbished with the 24 katat gold overlay restored. Gif boxed with a certification of authenticity.
