A lot of three Chinese plates. First and second. A pair of hand-painted porcelain plates. Mid-20th century. Hand-painted ornamental decor in Imari style. Third. A red cinnabar wall plate with carved figurative decor by RCL company. Titled Dance of the Peacock Maidens. Ming dynasty style. First of a series of six plates celebrating the Legend of the Peacock Maiden. No. 2383 out of 19500. Hallmarked and dated 1981 on the backside. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity. Imari ware is a Western term for a brightly-coloured style of Japanese export porcelain from the Arita region in the 17-18th centuries. The style was so successful that Chinese and European producers began to copy it. The story of the Peacock Maiden is a popular Southeast Asian folklore tale about a young prince who falls in love with the peacock princess and they marry.
