Description: 2 vol., 4to: [8]-104 (numbered 74)-[2]-111-[1]-[2]-114 pp.; [4]-82-[4]-86-[4]-87-20 pp.; 55 + 50 = 105 finely hand-coloured plates (Bound differently from literature: Dutch part is second in 1st vol., the index of both vol. is at the end of vol. 2). Nice copy. - Complete enlarged ed., in 3 languages (Latin, French, Dutch), of this beautifully and accurately illustrated work on beetles. Published by Bakhuysen from the posthumous papers of the entomologist J.E. Voet (1706-1778). Before Voet's death only incomplete copies were published. Whereas these had only 72 pl., this ed. has 105 engr. ill. from which pl. 49-55 in vol.1 and pl. 25-50 in vol. 2 were added by Bakhuysen. Most of the pl. were drawn by J. E. Voet and engraved by V. Bischoff, J. A. Eisenmann, C. F. C. Kleemann, C. F. Lotter, etc. The 2nd vol. of this copy has the rare title page in 2nd st., dated 1806 and with "naamlyst" instead of "naamlijst". - Ref.
