Val Saint Lambert - Joseph Simon - Vase - Crystal

An exceptional and beautifully cut crystal art deco vase in doubled red and transparent crystal.
The transparent parts of the vase are cut in a honeycomb pattern, something that rarely occurs with Val Saint Lambert vases.

The vase is made of crystal with a lead content of approximately 33 to 40%, much higher than the legally determined quality minimum of 24%, which gives a beautiful quality and brilliance.
The technique to make this two-colored crystal is called doubling: the shape is mouth-blown in clear crystal, after which the piece is doubled with red crystal. The facets are then cut.
Finally, the crystal is polished with lava stone and a linen cloth. This labor-intensive process gives a beautiful result of the highest quality.
