Copperplate engraved map (to sight: 595 x 496 mm). Handcolored in outline, with two vignettes depicting trade in the New World; a few stray spots. Matted and framed; not examined out of frame.

Maps by Gerard Valk—the present example included—were not published in standardized atlases. Instead, an individual could choose the particular maps they desired for their own "custom" atlas, thus leading to their relative scarcity.
