Van Cleef & Arpels | Pair of natural pearl and diamond earrings, 1920s

Each set with a drop-shaped cream and grey natural pearl measuring 12.22 x 11.88mm and 12.48 x 12.36mm respectively, suspended from a geometric openwork surmount set with single-, rose-, carré-cut, bullet-shaped and elongated hexagonal diamonds, screw back fittings, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered, case stamped Van Cleef & Arpels, one diamond deficient.

Accompanied by a gemmological report.

Accompanied by GIA report no. 2211937139, dated 3rd August 2021, stating that the pearls measuring 12.22 x 11.88mm and 12.48 x 12.36mm (depths not measurable due to setting) are natural, saltwater.

Cream pearl earring signed Van Cleef & Arpels, Paris, numbered 23.337. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.50-2.00 carats. Pearls drop shaped, grey more elongated, good lustre, cream pearl with rose and green overtones, grey pearl with similar overtones plus purple and with some localised areas of light patches of colour. Nacre overall in good condition, both with minor blemishes and cream pearl with some crazing near base. One small diamond in the cap of the grey pearl earring missing. Earring length approximately 58mm, gross weight approximately 14 grams. Some small areas of gold solder such as on suspension loop of cream pearl. Overall condition good.
