About this Item: Vanity Fair Office, London, 1888. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. yearly ed. All 52 full page color caricature type lithographs and 52 description pages of prominent gentlemen are present including Lieutenant bandmaster Daniel Godfrey with his baton, sword and large wholly hat. The Godfreys have been a bandmasterly family for generations. Also includes as the frontis "The Winning Post", a large double folded 15 x 21" color plate showing 8 colorful jockeyed horses racing to the finish line. A cricket uniformed man, a horseman with a crop are also included. Various signatures on the plates include Spy, Lib and Ape. Gilt decorated green cloth, all page edges are gilt. Some minor wear/small chip to spine tail and minor rubbing areas though overall bright and fresh. Many pages are loose due to glue on inner mull of the text block has dried up and deteriated away. Many of the blank tissue guards are not present. A very scarce volume. ; Folio 15 1/2" x 11"; over 104 pps. pages.
