Various Daguerreians & Ambrotypists, c.1850-60s PORTRAITS INCLUDING A GROUP HOLDING CASED IMAGES, c.1850s-1860s. Including a quarter plate and two sixth plate ambrotypes with sitters holding cased images, three quarter plate daguerreotypes of gentlemen, one example a head and shoulders profile in fine condition, the other full length and with scratches to plate peripheries, one example delicately hand-coloured and with a later label indicating the sitter as Dr. John Foulis (1816-1870) who emigrated to Australia to practice medicine in 1844, together with two monochromatic sixth plates, one example of a gentleman wearing spectacles the other marked for the Photographic Portrait Galleries at the exchange arcade Manchester, and a ninth plate with bush button side hinged case 1/2 profile of a gentleman wearing spectactles.
