Vase - Blue John with (probably Neapolitan) Renaissance mounts - Bronze, Gold-plated, Stone (mineral stone)
Italian decorative vase. Polished fluorite/"Blue. John", fire-gilded copper/bronze cast. Baluster shape with two S-handles. Four openwork clasps attached to the foot and neck with latches enclosing the stone. Roman numbering engraved on the base for the mounting of the clasps. H 13. 1 cm. The mounting attributed to Naples, early 17th century, the original glass was probably replaced by the stone at the end of the 18th century.
