Vase - Bronze - Yamamoto Shuho 山本秀峰 (1926-1989) - Medium-sized brown&grey bronze vase decorated with silver thread inlaid geometric shapes, signed - Japan - Shōwa period (1926-1989)

Tall and smooth ovoid brown patinated bronze vase with a dark grey mottled background. The front of the vase is decorated with very fine inlaid silver threads creating unsymmetrical geometric shapes. At the lower part on the back the vase is signed ‘ Shuho’ 秀峰 by the artist Yamamoto Shuho 山本秀峰 (1926-1989) . The vase has scuff marks in about ten places, a layer of green oxide has formed on these parts, making the defects less noticeable. The inside is coated by a thick black synthetic layer. This makes the vase suitable to be used as a flower vase, as it is now protected against rust on the inside. It is done in a very recognizable style of the Art Deco-period, but probably from a later date as the artist then would have been very young. Height 30. 2 cm, Diameter Ø 16. 5 cm. Weight: 2. 10 kg
