Chinese vase from the end of the 19th century, made in enamelled brass with the cloisonné technique. The piece has a round base on which a vertical body is supported, with a turquoise-blue finish, on which numerous ornamental elements of a figurative nature are arranged. The body depicts a landscape with a cherry blossom tree and two large cranes. These ornamental motifs are entirely characteristic of Chinese culture and were widely sought after by the European market, which experienced a boom in the 19th century. Cloisonné enamel is a technique which consists of depositing the vitreous paste of the enamel in recessed compartments or compartments formed by metal sheets which, in relief, make up the silhouette of the design.
