Vase - Glass, Uranium Glass

A large and heavy Venetian glass sculpture vase / bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's. Still bears the original factory label. \r
Rectangular Arte Nuova label, reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Grand Prize, Genuine Venetian Glass, World Fair Brussels, 1958". \r
The factory was open only for a relatively short time, from 1954 to 1965. Consists of pink glass encased in uranium yellow glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique. Glows bright green in UV light. \r
Size: Measures approx 30 cm. tall by 16. 5 cm. in diameter at widest point. Weight 1352 g. Beveled base 4. 2 x 4. 5 cm. \r
