Vase - Porcelain - Edo Imari coffee samovar - Japan - Mid Edo period

Wonderful, representative Imari coffee samovar, made in Japan in the Middle Edo period (1710-1725) for the Dutch market. Similar coffee samovars, always with three legs and brass tap, were made at the beginning of XVIII century on the base of metal models given by Dutch merchants. Decorated with underglaze cobalt blue and polichrome (red, pink, green, black, puce) overglaze emails plus gold touches. Decorative motives: large flying fenixes on the pot sides and floral decorations in the central cartouche, sakura flowers and leaves on the handle. Dimensions: height with lid 335 mm, total width 230 mm, lower width 150 mm. Conditions: legs glued to the pot, pot bottom glued to the body, plated lid (possibly not the original one) . A quality, very rare piece of Genroku time export porcelain for a Japanese antiques collection!
