Vase converted into a lamp stand. China, 18th century.
In hand-embossed bronze and fabric lampshade.
Measurements: 39 x 31 x 20 cm (vase), 63 x 44 x 27 cm (complete lamp).
Lamp with 18th century Chinese vase in embossed bronze, with a decoration of temples and nature typical of the period, animals and geometric motifs of Chinese culture. These vases or vase lamps were used on temple altars, making them objects of great value that only part of the aristocracy could afford. From the 19th century onwards, they were transformed, as in the case of this lamp.
